Marcia’s Blend Popcorn

Marcia Barck was one of my best friends, as close as a sister to me. She was one of the kindest people I have ever met. She was adventurous. She was incredibly passionate about her work as a veterinarian. She understood animals so very well - and she had this understanding of what their humans needed too.

Tragically we lost Marcia in a car accident in March 2021. This loss has deeply impacted me and I miss Marcia every single day.

Marcia loved the outdoors. Our group of friends meets regularly to hike with our dogs, and we love camping together.

The last time I saw her, we were on a winter hike and she called out to me, "Laura what is growing new in the garden this year?"

I turn to face her and I said "Marcia, I'm growing POPCORN!"

You see, Marcia LOVED popcorn. I'm not talking about the kind where you throw it in a microwave and 3 minutes later the bag is popped - I'm talking about the old fashioned "cook it on the stove" type popcorn.

In 2021, I decided to grow popcorn in honor of my friend.

I had never grown popcorn before, but I planted every single seed that I had. The idea to grow Marcia's Blend was full speed ahead.

The Barck family and Marcia’s friends assisted in the shelling and packaging process.

100% of each purchase of Marcia's Blend Popcorn will go straight back to Prairie's Edge Humane Society in Northfield, Minnesota. This is the charity her family chose for donations to go in memory of Marcia. This fund has already helped dozens of pets find their forever homes, and has helped Prairie's Edge to continue their excellent work in saving lives. You can learn more about this in the link below.
